This is the first title that I have read from Derek Prince, but it definitely will not be my last! Pull out your highlighters, because Rules of Engagement is the type of book you can read through several times and get something different out of it each time.

Prince was a contemporary and acquaintance of C.S. Lewis, and you can certainly see the philosophy background in his writing. I would recommend this book to anyone who desires to spiritually mature past the sin-repent cycle, or anyone who wants to understand their authority in Jesus Christ.

The book starts out setting the parameters for the Christian faith while marking Christian's as soldiers in God's army. He then goes on to explain that the Holy Spirit is essential for `training.' If you are to mature in your Christian faith, you need to understand the role of the Holy Spirit in your everyday life and the cosmic drama that you are inevitably a part of.

Prince clearly shows how to counteract the spiritual opposition that a Christian receives. He ends with an exhortation to persevere with an untainted but not unchallenged character that is only proven through the testing of faith.

A review copy of this title was provided by the Bethany House Book Reviewer's Program. This review is my own opinion and not compensated.
