Tamera Alexander transports you back to the opulence and wealth of Tennessee’s Belmont Mansion during the post civil war era. Claire Laurent is a forger of expensive art, yet she desperately wants to paint a masterpiece that she isn’t ashamed of. This delightful drama follows Claire as she runs from her past mistakes and tries to make a fresh start. Immersed in an artists’ paradise at Belmont, Claire struggles to keep her shame hidden as the hero, Sutton Monroe, suspects there is more to this woman than meets the eye.

The witty dialogue throughout this novel does not disappoint. On one page you are cracking up only to turn it over and cry on the next. It is obvious throughout the book that Miss Alexander did a significant amount of research. The vivid descriptions of the Belmont mansion and the extensive art collection make you feel like you are standing in the grand foyer. From the opening page you will be invested in the lives of Claire and Sutton as they find out what it means to be redeemed.

A Lasting Impression is a wonderful story about first impressions, new beginnings and romance that will leave you smiling.
