Inescapable is the first book that I have read from Nancy Mehl. I was surprised that she is one of those few authors that write in first person.
I usually have a difficult time getting past the jarring of first person, but overall I found Inescapable to be an enjoyable, suspenseful romance.
I would definitely recommend this title. The characters and dialogue were very believable. Mehl did a wonderful job intricately weaving the plot.
I connected with the main character so much that I could feel the fear she was experiencing. Inescapable is absolutely worth the purchase!

This was a challenging read in more ways than one. The subject itself was a lot to grasp. This would be especially true for someone who was not familiar with the early Christian church.
I welcome the gifts and manifestation of the Holy Spirit, so I found the book very insightful. The first third of the book had a difficult time holding my attention. However, the remainder was interesting. I’m glad I finished it.
Word Spirit Power answers a fundamental question posed to the church, “Where is the Acts 2 power to perform miracles?” The trio argues that despite many denominations insistence that God no longer performs miraculous signs and wonders like He did in the early church, it is rather the church that denies the Holy Spirit.
This book offers an insightful, yet challenging, message that the power of the Holy Spirit is activated when there is a marriage between the word of God and a yielding to the Holy Spirit. A balance of the two empowers us to fulfill our ministry with the biblical power of Acts 2.

I am an avid Witemeyer fan who usually grabs her books hot off the press. I was giddy when I read the jacket of this novel imagining all of the hysterical scenarios that could have led up to the title. This book lives up to the expectations you would have by viewing the cover. It is a sweet novel with strong leads but a predictable ending.
Witemeyer has a wonderful way of springing her stories off of the flaws of her characters. She does this frustratingly well in the Short-Straw Bride. I found the plot to be a little weak but still entertaining. It must have been because I stayed up to a maddening 3am to finish! Overall, I really enjoyed this title and would recommend it.

Love in Disguise is not your typical historical fiction novel. The romance between the heroine and hero is definitely the understudy to the main storyline. I usually have mystery novels figured out in the first couple of chapters, so it was nice to finally read one where I didn’t know who the culprit was.
I didn’t emotionally connect with the characters, but the plot was well thought out which kept me turning the pages. Cox is a delightful writer. I would recommend keeping an eye on this author!

I LOVE this book! I didn’t want to put it down. This character driven novel draws you into the lives of Kate and Matt so well that you come away thinking they are ‘real’ people. Don’t let the semi-cheesy prologue fool you…this book is definitely a winner. Wade commands the simple plot through witty dialogue and masterful character development. This author is definitely on my favorite list, and I hope she hits yours too.
In an unlikely circumstance Kate meets a mysterious and emotionally tortured celebrity. The hero of the story becomes recluse after tragedy rips his life apart. Kate stubbornly works to tear down the walls that Matt has put up around his heart. You will find yourself rooting for the girl next door to get past the thick armor of this mysterious celebrity and share the hope that comes through her faith in Christ.

I really wanted to like this book. I have read many of Tracie's titles and have enjoyed most of them, so I cracked this cover with expectation. Chasing the Sun held a lot of promise but didn't fully deliver. The story line was good and well thought out which kept me turning the page, but I failed to connect with the characters on an emotional level. This may be due to the fact that neither the hero nor the heroine had a strong enough motive/desire.
The dialogue lacked to the point where it was just unbelievable. For instance, if you were to read the story out loud, you would find the conversation awkward in both what they were saying and how. I found this more true with William's lines. I don't know a man on the planet who would advertise that he was a 'crippled,' yet William did this on numerous occasions throughout. It also felt like William and Hannah didn't have enough conversation to truly fall in love, but maybe that will come out in the sequel.
I usually find Tracie's books to have a depth of research that effortlessly jumps off the page. This story felt like someone else did the research and the author tried to plug it in. This was especially true halfway through where the middle muddle needed to be 'propped up.' The last third of the book saved the day, however. The story had a great ending. I definitely wouldn't read this title again, but it is worth picking up if you have some time and would like a quick read.

It is obvious throughout the book that Miss Alexander did a significant amount of research. The vivid descriptions of the Belmont mansion and the extensive art collection make you feel like you are standing in the grand foyer. From the opening page you will be invested in the lives of Claire and Sutton as they find out what it means to be redeemed.
A Lasting Impression is a wonderful story about first impressions, new beginnings and romance that will leave you smiling.
