Inescapable is the first book that I have read from Nancy Mehl. I was surprised that she is one of those few authors that write in first person.

I usually have a difficult time getting past the jarring of first person, but overall I found Inescapable to be an enjoyable, suspenseful romance.

I would definitely recommend this title. The characters and dialogue were very believable. Mehl did a wonderful job intricately weaving the plot.

I connected with the main character so much that I could feel the fear she was experiencing. Inescapable is absolutely worth the purchase!

Driven to keep her daughter safe from the mysterious threats she was receiving, Lizzie Engel leaves the meager life she had built for them.

Nothing is what it seems as Lizzie returns to the disapproving Mennonite town she would rather forget. Will she ever be free from confusion and fear, or will the nightmare she is trying to escape find her?

Love in Disguise is not your typical historical fiction novel. The romance between the heroine and hero is definitely the understudy to the main storyline. I usually have mystery novels figured out in the first couple of chapters, so it was nice to finally read one where I didn’t know who the culprit was.

I didn’t emotionally connect with the characters, but the plot was well thought out which kept me turning the pages. Cox is a delightful writer. I would recommend keeping an eye on this author!

Out of desperation, Ellie Moore accepts a position as an operative for a detective agency. Her lack of espionage experience is made up for by her ability to disguise herself. She relies upon her acting skills and costumes in order to solve the mystery of the Arizona robberies.

Stephen Pierce has to find out who is stealing the silver shipments from his mine before he is forced to board up permanently. Little does he know that the gray-haired widow he befriends is also the detective agent he hired!

I really wanted to like this book. I have read many of Tracie's titles and have enjoyed most of them, so I cracked this cover with expectation. Chasing the Sun held a lot of promise but didn't fully deliver. The story line was good and well thought out which kept me turning the page, but I failed to connect with the characters on an emotional level. This may be due to the fact that neither the hero nor the heroine had a strong enough motive/desire.

The dialogue lacked to the point where it was just unbelievable. For instance, if you were to read the story out loud, you would find the conversation awkward in both what they were saying and how. I found this more true with William's lines. I don't know a man on the planet who would advertise that he was a 'crippled,' yet William did this on numerous occasions throughout. It also felt like William and Hannah didn't have enough conversation to truly fall in love, but maybe that will come out in the sequel.

I usually find Tracie's books to have a depth of research that effortlessly jumps off the page. This story felt like someone else did the research and the author tried to plug it in. This was especially true halfway through where the middle muddle needed to be 'propped up.' The last third of the book saved the day, however. The story had a great ending. I definitely wouldn't read this title again, but it is worth picking up if you have some time and would like a quick read.

Tamera Alexander transports you back to the opulence and wealth of Tennessee’s Belmont Mansion during the post civil war era. Claire Laurent is a forger of expensive art, yet she desperately wants to paint a masterpiece that she isn’t ashamed of. This delightful drama follows Claire as she runs from her past mistakes and tries to make a fresh start. Immersed in an artists’ paradise at Belmont, Claire struggles to keep her shame hidden as the hero, Sutton Monroe, suspects there is more to this woman than meets the eye.

The witty dialogue throughout this novel does not disappoint. On one page you are cracking up only to turn it over and cry on the next. It is obvious throughout the book that Miss Alexander did a significant amount of research. The vivid descriptions of the Belmont mansion and the extensive art collection make you feel like you are standing in the grand foyer. From the opening page you will be invested in the lives of Claire and Sutton as they find out what it means to be redeemed.

A Lasting Impression is a wonderful story about first impressions, new beginnings and romance that will leave you smiling.

Deanne Gist is one of my favorite authors. Somehow I always find myself smiling throughout her books. she is also one of the few authors that make me laugh out loud.

This is a cute story about a telephone operator in the early 1900's named Miss Georgie Gail. The company she works for sends a new handy man named Luke to fix the lines. Little did she know that this maintenance-man was actually an arrogant Texas Ranger (Lucius Landrum) working undercover to capture the infamous Frank Comer.

Tempers flair when Lucius tries to take charge of this independent woman's switchboard station. When they finally admit their attraction for each other, Georgie finds out that Luke has no respect for the one thing she's passionate about.
